SH Productions, in association with Cardboard Citizens and Arcola Theatre, have announced the
cast for the new London run of the smash gig theatre hit Bangers at Arcola Theatre, 17 July - 10 August 2024.
Written by Danusia Samal, and returning to London after a 5 star smash run at Soho Theatre and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2023, Bangers is gig theatre with smooth early 00s garage and r&b "bangers". Joined on stage by a DJ and Narrator, headliners Aria and Clef crossfade through one night in their life which brings their stories closer together.
Danusia Samal and Jim Caesar return to their roles as Aria Clef, while Tanya Loretta-Dee takes over the role of DJ and Narrator - with credits in Eastenders and Peaky Blinders.
With themes of housing insecurity, homelessness and the challenges of growing up in urban areas - the show will also have community-driven wrap around activities in collaboration with SH Productions, Cardboard Citizens, Cardboard Collective and the Arcola Theatre to support those in the local area.
Bangers sees theatre and music intersect with a lyrical journey through love, sex and power for the perfect theatre night out. Sit back and have a drink and listen to the DJ drop banger after banger.
